Volunteer Twitter Assistant

The Volunteer Twitter Assistant will help develop and implement a social media strategy to increase overall reach and brand awareness. He/she/they will mainly use Twitter to promote active IAPMD campaigns, engage the public, and increase donations and online presence. They will directly contribute to increasing IAPMD’s capacity to reach our community and increase awareness of our mission.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Twitter Assistant will:

  • Be proactive and confident in reaching out to organisations, patients, advocates, and others on Twitter

  • Be active on Twitter on a daily basis where possible (little and often is fine!)

  • Build lists of relevant organisations, activists, advocates, non-profits etc

  • Get involved in different Twitter chats, awareness events, and online collectives

  • Monitor activity and user interactions on Twitter and interact with them

  • Promote the IAPMDs services and benefits to patients

  • Feed into and have input into the social media strategy to support the organization’s campaigns and fundraising activities and establish targets for increasing online reach

  • Work alongside the Social Media Coordinator and Executive Director to develop plans, ideas, and images.

  • Seek out news articles, blog posts, press releases etc around PMDD/PME/Women's Health and promote fundraising appeals, organization updates, goals met, and other promotional items (merchandise)

Qualifications/Skills

  • Experience of using Twitter in a professional capacity preferred (Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Youtube etc beneficial)

  • Experience of using Hootsuite and Canva preferable (or willingness to learn)

  • Strong writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail

  • Take direction well

  • Outgoing, proactive, enthusiastic and creative

  • Works well independently and as part of a team

  • Have a keen interest in women’s health issues

  • Have knowledge/understanding of the challenges faces by PMDD/PME sufferers

Time Period

  • The position requires a minimum 6-month commitment for approximately 3-4 hours per week, which can be completed remotely (and fitted around your cycle if you are a sufferer yourself)Benefits and Recognition
