Copyright Policy
Website Linking, Content Sharing, and Translations
The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines for
linking to and from iapmd.org and related websites
copying or sharing content found on IAPMD's websites or published by the organization, and
translating content owned by IAPMD.
IAPMD provides information for patients, healthcare professionals, caregivers, volunteers, and end-users as part of the organization's mission to inspire hope and end suffering in those affected by premenstrual disorders. IAPMD's content enjoys copyright protection. However, the organization supports awareness and education related to premenstrual disorders and encourages websites to link to iapmd.org and related websites.
Linking TO iapmd.org
The IAPMD does NOT endorse companies, non-profits, organizations, products or services, and strictly prohibits any suggestion of endorsement, recommendation, or superiority of one company, product or service over another company, product or service.
The IAPMD does not allow framing of its website(s). When setting up a link to the IAPMD website, the IAPMD’s site should open in a new browser window rather than displaying the pages in a frame of the linking site’s Web template, when frames are used in the site’s design.
Links directly to the IAPMD website should be text-only and you may not use the IAPMD’s stylized logo as a link - our logo cannot be shown on your site without permission.
You should use one of these lead-in sentences with your text link to the IAPMD website:
The International Association for Premenstrual Disorders (IAPMD) is a global non-profit working to accelerate progress and create a world where those with PMDD and PME can survive and thrive.
The International Association for Premenstrual Disorders (IAPMD) is working to bridge the gap between premenstrual and mental health.
The International Association for Premenstrual Disorders (IAPMD) is a not-for-profit organization providing education, support, advocacy, and resources for those affected by Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) and Premenstrual Exacerbation of underlying disorders (PME).
Copying Content from IAPMD
IAPMD-created content is copyright protected, whether it's rendered in ink or pixels, and it may not be copied or published elsewhere without the express (typically written) permission of IAPMD. The information need not have a copyright notice or symbol associated with it to be copyrighted. The contents of a website are no different than the contents of a book or magazine in terms of copyright protection.
IAPMD does not allow other websites to copy and reuse information or material(s) from IAPMD or associated websites.
IAPMD does allow an extract of the content with attribution and a link back to the original content on iapmd.org.
The exception to this rule is when a formal Website Content License Agreement is in place with IAPMD which can give the requesting organization (the Licensee) the right to use (a License) content owned by IAPMD (the Licensor) for placement on a website.
Content Translation
Translation is the act of converting information in one language to another accurately. A translation of a written work is a derivative work.
IAPMD content, articles, and information cannot be translated into another language and distributed without permission from IAPMD (the copyright holder). If IAPMD authorizes a translation, then IAPMD owns the copyright in the translation since the translation is a work for hire.
Permission should be sought from IAPMD if any of the organization's copyrighted materials or content are used as inspiration, in particular, if the intended use is commercial and/or in any way questionable.
Linking FROM iapmd.org
When the IAPMD website includes links to other sites, the IAPMD does not assume any responsibility or liability for any communications or materials available at the sites to which it links, including responsibility or liability for their accuracy. No link on the IAPMD website is a referral or endorsement of either the linked-to entity or any product or service. Such links are provided for convenience only.
The IAPMD does not provide links from the IAPMD website(s) to external sites except as specified by a collaborative relationship/agreement, sponsorship agreement/contract, partnership, or other business relationship.
When a link from the IAPMD website to an external commercial website (a corporate website that generates revenue or cash flow by selling a product, advertisements, or a service) is created, it should abide by a “two-click” rule. This means that the first link goes to a "jump page" that explains the relationship between IAPMD and the other party. A link to the external website can be placed on this jump page, however, it must land on a general homepage, not a page that includes information about specific products or services.
Contact
Sites requesting a link or content sharing arrangement should send an email containing the link and any relevant information to info@iapmd.org..
IAPMD reserves the right to add, modify or delete these guidelines at any time at the IAPMD's sole discretion.
