Ovarian Hormone Effects on Human Brain Architecture

This is an IAPMD Professional Community Webinar, and the content is aimed at Health Care Professionals & Researchers. Patients with a special interest are welcome to attend but please note that the presentation will be clinical in nature and we are not able to answer questions about individual health concerns/circumstances. Patient tickets are available here >>

In this session, Dr. Nicole Petersen will be presenting ovarian hormone effects on human brain architecture. Dr. Petersen will review how hormones affect brain structure and function, and the important limitations of brain imaging research.

This session is aimed at people who are curious about the brain and want to know more about brain imaging studies in patients with PMDD – looking at how brain structure and function might be different across the menstrual cycle in those with hormone sensitivity.

Speaker: Nicole Petersen, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Biobehavioral Sciences, housed within the David Geffen School of Medicine, at UCLA. Her lab focuses on translational neuroimaging and neuromodulation, including an exploration of ovarian hormones as neuromodulators.
