Video Support Groups

IAPMD PEER SUPPORT.png

Online groups can be great, but sometimes nothing beats talking face-to-face to others who understand. Come and connect with others in a safe, moderated environment.

The sessions are led by trained IAPMD peer support facilitators who have lived experience with PMDD/PME and want to help make the path easier for others.

Video peer support groups are provided free of charge from IAPMD - but you must book a space for each session you wish to attend. We are an international organization, and times are listed in EST (Boston, USA) and UK where possible - wherever you are in the world, you are welcome to attend!

Schedule

+ I can't see my usual group - where did it go?

A number of the groups are pausing for the summer. Please check back at the end of August for upcoming Fall dates. We apologize for the inconvenience! For additional peer support information please visit www.iapmd.org/peer-support

+ What if I can’t make any of the current times of sessions?

That’s OK! This is just the beginning of our video support groups and there will be a growing program of support groups which will be held at different times of day to try and make them accessible to as many people as possible.

+ Are the sessions moderated so everyone has a chance to speak if they want to?

Sessions are moderated by a trained facilitator to ensure that the group runs smoothly, safely and to make sure that everyone gets a chance to talk.

+ Do I have to speak or can I just listen in?

This is entirely up to you - You can just listen in and/or you can be off camera. No pressure! It can be nerve wracking to join in something new and we understand that - you are ensured a warm and friendly welcome!

+ Is this suitable for crisis support?

No. If you are in crisis, these groups are not an appropriate route for you as they will not be able to provide the important one-on-one care you need and deserve. We recommend that you reach out to a crisis support service near you. You can find the links here.

+ Do I have to come every week or can I just drop in when I want?

This is entirely up to you - ideally you would attend weekly to build a relationship with your group/facilitator, however we understand that people are busy and so ‘drop in’ as and when is also fine!

+ Do I need to book a place?

Yes. You can browse the schedule above and book a space to a session via the link.

+ How many people are in each group?

There is a maximum of 10 people accepted into each session - this is a good number to enable everyone to have a chance to talk and get the support they need.
