PMD Awareness Month 2024 Light Ups

  • Around the world! (map)

Throughout April 2024, landmarks around the world will light up teal in honor of PMD Awareness Month!

With this year’s theme Our Lightbulb Moment, we believe lighting up landmarks around the world will be a powerful symbol of hope and community to help spark awareness and change!

If you’re going to a light-up near you, make sure to take lots of pictures and tag us @iapmdglobal!

Ideas to help you raise awareness at light-ups:

  • Go LIVE on social media while you’re there, take pics, share stories, or make a reel

  • Hang posters around the area and hand out leaflets about PMDs to anyone passing by

  • Contact a local news station and see if they will cover the light-up and share your story

  • Host an event with your family and friends to see the light-up together and celebrate

  • A ‘light-up’ is when a building, landmark, or bridge lights TEAL in recognition of PMD Awareness Month. It’s a powerful tribute to the brave women and AFAB individuals in the area living with premenstrual disorders.

  • All locations have their own timing/procedure for light-ups - most locations will light up around dusk. If you are traveling any distance to attend, then do contact the venue in advance for their specific timings.

  • If there’s not a light-up near you, host one at home. Change your porchlight to a color-changing bulb and go all TEAL. It’s not quite the same as a landmark light-up we know, but it's special nonetheless.

  • Teal is the official color for Premenstrual Disorders Awareness!
