2018 PMDD Annual Conference Recap
It's been over a month now since the 2018 PMDD Annual Conference and while we are still in wrap-up mode, we are also preparing to start planning for 2019. Before we do, however, we just want to share some highlights and amazing photos taken by event attendees and Alyssa Kirsten Photography. (Did you miss the event entirely? An Immersive & Intimate Event
So much was covered at this year's event from mindfulness and meditation to evaluating the stress response in those with PMDD. Presenters shared an array of research and personal experiences to give those in the audience a combined understanding of core Premenstrual Disorder diagnosis, triggers, treatment options, and life impact.
Many of us realized the need for a third day of sessions as so much is covered in two short days. The event itself can also be quite emotional for those attending for the first time and even those attending their second and third.
The evening workshops were intimate and impactful, particularly the writing workshop lead by Chloe Caldwell. This workshop gave attendees the opportunity to explore writing as a healing process and really reflect on how their diagnosis has impacted various aspects of their being.
Outstanding Achievement Award
The event was closed with the presentation of the 2018 Gia Allemand Award to Board President and founding member, Sandi MacDonald for her work in advancing peer support and advocacy for those in need. We look forward to officially celebrating Sandi at the 2019 conference!
