Join our PMDD Open Studio, a four-week online series offering a safe and supportive environment for creative expression and connection. Each week, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in artmaking within a community that values personal exploration over critique. Any art mediums are welcome, allowing you to freely choose how you express yourself. This series is led by Doryn Wallach, an artist and PMD peer supporter.
Dates/Times:
Wed, April 24, 3-4:30pm ET / 8-9:30pm BST
Wed, May 1, 3-4:30pm ET / 8-9:30pm BST
Wed, May 8, 3-4:30pm ET / 8-9:30pm BST
Wed, May 15, 3-4:30pm ET / 8-9:30pm BST
*These sessions are only offered live and won't be recorded as to create a safe and confidential space for creative expression.
Here's what to expect:
1. Respect for the Creative Process: Interference with others' artwork is not permitted unless feedback is explicitly requested, ensuring a non-judgmental space for individual expression.
2. Focus on Creation: Let go of expectations about your artwork. The process of making art is valued more than the final product, encouraging a freer, more exploratory approach.
3. The Role of Witnessing: Observe your own creative process or that of others in a supportive, nonintrusive way. This can offer new insights into your work and personal growth.
4. Independence in Art Therapy: While this is a facilitated session, it is not a therapy group. You are encouraged to take responsibility for your experience, choose your focus and materials, and manage your emotional needs with the group's support.
5. Confidentiality and Safety: What happens in our studio stays in our studio. Confidentiality is paramount to creating a trust-filled environment where everyone can feel secure in their expression.
During our sessions, feel free to reach out to Doryn privately for any immediate needs or questions about art making. Engaging with fellow participants is encouragedβshare, stay silent, or chat as you create, all in a playful, risk-taking, and supportive setting.
Our studio is a no-judgment zone designed to empower you to explore your creativity in ways that resonate with you personally. Whether you're a novice or an experienced artist, this open studio is a place to connect, express, and grow together.
